Christian Rich is an American music production, songwriting, artist and DJ group consisting of twin brothers, Taiwo "Christian" Hassan and Kehinde "Rich" Hassan, Born February 5, 1982. Born and raised in Chicago, the brothers learned their musical acumen in Nigeria, and experienced the business in New York. With management from N.E.R.D's Shae Haley they have worked with genre legends Lil’ Kim, The Clipse, Chris Brown, Lupe Fiasco, Pharrell Williams/N.E.R.D and Diddy, as well as indie acts like Peter Bjorn and John, The Noisettes, and house/electro wizard Armand Van Helden.
Christian Rich came into popularity with their success as platinum producers for their work with Lil’ Kim and The Clipse. The release of a classic mixtape called “The Decadence” presented by Mick Boogie, Clinton Sparks and BBC/Ice Cream also launched the duo to the New York scene. The tape featured music heavyweights Pusha T, Pharrell, Shanelle of Young Money, L.A. favorites UNI, Bjorn from PBJ and others.[1] They teamed up with the premiere vodka brand Belvedere to create the mini documentary “A Day In The Life” as they created music and worked with N.E.R.D.[2] The tape included an art video for the popular song “Hello Virgin” and the BB Gun directed, "Famous Girl". They received praise from MTV, VH1, HBO, E! TV, Highsnobiety.com, Juxtapoz Magazine, XXL Magazine, BBCIceCream.com, Complex Magazine and others.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
Christian Rich continues their extensive resume with DJ sets in the corporate world. They joined Microsoft to introduce the Xbox 360 Kinetic product launch December 2010 in Toronto, Canada.[10] The duo also DJ at the NY hotspots like the Thompson Hotel’s “Above Allen”, The Ace Hotel, Webster Hall, Gallery Bar, Sutra Lounge, Hotel Rivington, Highline Ballroom, Prohibit NYC Store and many other spots.
Lollapalooza also welcomed the duo at the HUB 51 set in Chicago with fellow DJ friends Clinton Sparks and DJ Spyder with attendance from Jennifer Love Hewitt. The duo continue to expand their brand as they prepare for more DJ sets this year with DC Shoes/Quiksilver for Fashion Week in New York and London.[11] More production work continues with Miguel, Pusha T, J. Cole, Kristina Debarge, Fabolous, Ludacris and many others. Christian Rich also plans to finish their first EP "The Decadence 2" due out Summer 2011 via iTunes and Amazon Digital formats.
